JAG Consulting Group, Inc., implemented a peroxide activated Klozur® (sodium persulfate) groundwater treatment at a UST site.
Elevated levels of BTEX, MTBE, and TAME were present near the site. The ISCO treatment consisted of injections of Klozur® that were performed simultaneously into 12 injection wells. The chemical oxidation process can be described as a controlled, moderate-high temperature, and low-pressure application.
An overall MTBE reduction of 77%, a TAME reduction of 96%, and a Benzene reduction of 81% were achieved as a result of the ISCO injections after 210 days.
