In Situ Remediation Technologies Workshop, White Plains, NY

Primary in situ chemical oxidation mechanisms and technologies as well as the types of in situ thermal remediation available commercially will be presented. The program identifies the applicability and feasibility of each of these in situ remedial options to sites of various geology and lithology. Providing a greater understanding to those key figures within the remediation industry will allow for stronger problem solving, stronger communication within the industry, and lead to expedited site closures. Our goal is to ensure our attendees leave with an understanding of investigation parameters, reasonable treatment goals, contaminant of concern phase and oxidant selection, treatability test selection, methods of delivery, and pilot through full-scale implementation

Upon the successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify strengths and limitations of injection technologies using various site conditions and contaminant applicability

  • Describe pertinent design considerations when opting for soil mixing or soil stabilization methodologies

  • Explain the mechanics of activated carbon injectates

  • Recognize how thermal remediation applies to challenging sites

  • Evaluate sites and choose the correct enhanced options for remediation
